Why Am I Here In La Verdad Christian College

Education is the only wealth that no one can get from you. Everything  happens for a reason and I know that His reason why I am here in La Verdad Christian College is for my good. “Thanks be to God” are the words that I uttered after I received the good news that I have passed here in La Verdad Christian College. And that I will study here is a pleasure of mine. I know that I’m not worthy to be here but with God’s help and mercy I am here. I am one of the lucky students who received different incentives from my school. This school is very different from other school. And I would proud to say that I am studying here because this school is being guided by Almighty God. And also I am here because this school is made for the indigent students who wants to study but can’t afford to study. And I am so lucky that I belong here. I am here because I have a mission. Maybe now I am not conscious or aware of that but I know after some time I will realize it. Thanks be to GOD J.

C. L. Month

Christian Dance

Last January, we celebrated our Christian Living Month. I really enjoyed this, because many unexpected things happened to us most especially to my section MCT-13. We really felt the presence and mercy of God Almighty. I am so thankful to God, for all His unspeakable gift. It’s so amazing and unexpected that our section will be the over-all champion. There are many categories like Bible Preaching, Christian dance, Choral competition, Solo singing contest, and Photo contest.  Thanks be to God that we have entries to the different categories and with God’s help we won. And this competition also inspires me that always keep your faith with God, because with God’s help He can give to you the best you just need to keep your faith in your heart. And always pray in silence where you and God are the only one who can listen to you so that the bad spirits won’t block you from what you want. In this competition also, I felt the presence of my classmates, because before we are not close or in-tack. But after that we are all happy that mostly all of us are in-tack now. I am just hoping that the friendship or closeness that surrounds to us will stay. Thanks be to God. TO GOD BE THE GLORY! J

Art Month

This month of February isn’t just only about love month. It is also the month of art. The moment I saw this painting it really captured my attention. This painting is colorful and I really like looking to this painting.  Whenever I have time to look at this picture, I feel calm and comfortable while looking at this. I don’t know why but that is my feeling. I remembered my childhood days where I first heard the legend about the pineapple, because this painting has a lot of eyes. I remembered this legend when the mother wished that her daughter would have many eyes so that she can be able to see the things that her mother told to her. I wish I could see more paintings like this.

DEAR KUYA 

One of Dear Kuya’s radio episode I have listened to when I was with my classmates is Carlo’s story. The boy who’s grandfather is his father as well. At first, we thought that the anger of his mother was because of her parents being the hindrance of her dirty life but when we finished listening to the story, we’re really shocked to realize that it’s not because of that.

The fact that most of the father abuse their daughters, the story of Carlo’s life is common nowadays, especially to those places full of people who doesn’t know how to spend their lives, non-educated and unemployed.

For me, the grandfather’s intention of doing such thing is such unGodly and insane! Ruinning his daughter and his son/grandson’s child cause too much pain in their lives. I can say that probably, the moment he did that is when he’s drunk and that’s a perfect proof that being drunken causes too much inqities a man can do towards other people. What kind of father was lolo Alfredo??

I think the reason why he can’t tell this to Carlo is because he regrets the thing he did, but this can’t change his relationship with his daughter. The pain Carlo’s mother got from his father was really unforgettable.

I remembered what our NSTP instructor told us, that there are about two kinds of problems: the “controlled” and “uncontrolled”. This type of problem can be considered both. The moment when the father’s libido attacked towards her daughter is an “uncontrolled” problem, because that time, he is drunk. But the fact that it’s already done can be considered “controlled” because, as a daughter if you really love your father, you can forgive him. But I can understand Carlo’s mom.

The respect that Lolo Alfredo suppose to give to his daughter is gone because of what he did. That was probably the main reason why Carlo’s mom can’t forgive and forget what happened.

I think Dear Kuya is a radio station drama that is really interesting to listen to, because its not just entertainment that we can get from the program but the wisdom as well. It’s really catchy and persuasive, and in that way, I believe many people can be a part of the fall!

My Interview Article J

Life means the period of time during which they are alive. Life also may refer to the events and experiences that happen to people while they are alive. This is about my interview article and let’s take a view on his life.

            To be patient, to get ready in life circumstances, and have faith in God are the most important lesson he learned in his life. Keeping his faith to God is the most important thing that he is holding right now, because he told me that in times at happiness and sadness there is always God in his back. I also asked him about who was the most important person in his life?. He answered that his mother is the most important person in his life. Most of the time his mother is the one who is with him. His mother is also a supportive mother for him. They treated each other as best friend.  He told me that his mother has been then been the biggest influence in his life. His mother influences him the way he speak, his attitude and everything about him. His mother is always with him in happiness and in pain. And his mother also taught him how to be strong.

            Life has it’s ups and downs. He also experienced it. When I interviewed him and asked him about what was the happiest moment of his life. He said that it is when he discovered that he has a talent in writing, because he didn’t expect that he has the ability to write. And the most devastated part of his life is when he didn’t passed to his dream school for college. Because he already set his dreams and goals to that school. But he didn’t passed it. During that time all of his classmates are happy because, they can already see their future but he is hanging on air and no one is there to listen to his drama. So, for him that’s the biggest blow in his life.

            I also asked him if he have any regrets in his life. He said that he have no regrets because he do believed that everything that happened and ill happen to him is for a reason. He also said that life is an adventure full of ups and downs. I do asked him if how would he like to be remembered?. His answer is “ As a simple person that is waiting for someone to talk and share things in life. The word of wisdom that he liked to passed to me is that “ Just be strong in life, be yourself, don’t pretend to be someone. Because it’s you, not anybody else. And always pray to God.”

            Lastly I asked him about what he think his life would be like when he is older.  He said that “ I’m just an ordinary elder sitting on a chair looking on a streets reminiscing or remembering my life in the past”. But who he is? He is the only child of Mr. and Ms. Malig-on. He is Levi S. Malig-on. A simple and a kind student of La Verdad Christian College.

Many people said that knowledge is information or an understanding about something which a person has or which all people have.
But I don't believe that we can just earn knowledge from books and in a four corners of a room where is known to be called "classroom". Bible is the book where we can find all the necessary knowledge that we need in our life. Bible also is the thing used by quiz bee contestants, where they reviewed for quiz bee contest. All of the sections in La Verdad Christian College have their own representative for this category. Thanks be to God that the representative of our section have won and also HCS - 11. Thanks be to God!

My Favorite Movie

          My favorite movie is “Isang Araw Lang The Movie”. Kuya Daniel is the main character of the movie his name is Johnny. Johnny is a jeepney driver with a soft  heart. He took care of some children and  supported for their needs. Aside from that, he was also always prepared to take necessary action for his neighbors most especially his fellow drivers. There was a time that he was able to convince a young snatcher namely Estong who is in syndicate and he also able to rescue some children from a gang who want to sell them to foreigners. Aside from that many of his fellow drivers wanted him to be the president of the driver's association. Because Ka Rene is taking advantage to his co-drivers, he got a high rent to the drivers. One time, one of the child got sick and needed big money for an operation. Johnny had an encounter with the corrupt Congressman Ricardo who wanted  to use the child's sickness so that others will know that he was a helpful person. Johnny don't want to accept the help of the corrupt Congressman because he know that there is something bad.  The bad politician got angry to Johnny and he took away his adopted child and accused kidnapping against him. Johnny is kidnapped and tortured by evil man. But before he was kidnapped, he met his old friend to say his problems. His friend has a dilemma if he will help Johnny or not. After how many hours he finally decided to help Johnny and fought for what is right. After three months the doctors were able to find an alternative to being operated for the sick orphan. And in the end the problems were solved.

          I liked this movie because this film delivers moral messages, the character of Kuya Daniel as Johnny  is exactly the man who he is. Unbelievable but true that millions of people have witnessed how generous Kuya Daniel. Especially those who are in orphanage, sicked, disabled and aged. As like in his character though he was not related to any of the several orphans he still took care of them. In real life Kuya Daniel and  always extended  his hands to who are in need. And also they do not have the habit of announcing to the world of what he have done. If there is someone who did bad  to him he don't have any bad actions in return. Even though he was really in sane he don't lose hope . He trust God with all of his heart that there will always be someone that will help him. His trust and faith to God is his strong root . Kuya Daniel always reminded the children to always thanked God for what they received. The attitude of  Kuya Daniel teaches me to strive good things and influence others.

          I will love to promote this movie to my family, friends and to my neighbors because they will learn a lot while enjoying watching this movie.

My Favorite Music

          My favorite music is “I won't give up” by Jason Miraz.  When I'm tired, I will just listen to this song and I will feel relieve. Later on I can just sleep. I really like the message of this song. Because it give me strength whenever I feel trembling down. The lyrics of this song helps me to process the lesson of life and the wonderful event that I'm learning.  And also that I can apply it to my life that in every trials with God’s help I can  move on. I won't give up on loving a person,  or even with regards to my dreams and passion.  In life we will meet problems halfway, but it's not the reason to give up. We can see many things and reasons to still continue living. Though we can see vision so far at the right time we can have it. Even if we can see many barriers on achieving something there will be always a reason for us to look up. Just like in our own love story it is not impossible to fall two persons to each other even if there's a difference between their status in life. Because we will know that God knows what is worth for. “I don't wanna be someone who walks away so easily”. In this part of the song it gives me inspiration  that I can shine and stand out who am I. I want to be strong so that if floods of problems will move along my feet, my feet is already cemented on the ground. You can also enjoy the life in spite of the problems you have. And also you still know how to smile and thank God for His wonderful blessings though you are the poorest person in the whole wide world.

          Let us appreciate everything done by God from little ones to great because another day is a new chance to prove that yesterday made you stronger and better person. We just first need to learn and after that we can learn that it is worth waiting for.  We need to hold on and sing “No I won't give up”. I won't give up! To the trials that you will give God. :)

My Favorite Gadget

  As the days passed, new technologies were invented. Many can help us to make things easier, some were just for nothing. My favorite gadget is my cellphone and a laptop. My cell phone unit is Samsung Corby S3850. I love my phone, because it was given by my father. When I received this to my father, I felt ashamed but at the same time flattered also. Because though we are just poor my father really worked hard for this with God’s help. And I received this when I was about to reach the age of 15 in short my 15^th birthday. I remembered when I received this from my father, tears fall down from my eyes because of happiness. Maybe it’s called tears of joy. My phone has a 4 Giga byte memory card. When I have nothing to do, I enjoy capturing pictures even if it is wacky, formal or whatever I look like. When I am bored I just want to put my headset on and I will listen to music and my boredom will relieve. I really enjoyed listening to music but slow beat only. I don't want music that was so loud and fast beat because it was not good appealing in my ears I also want my cellular phone because it has a wi-fi whenever I should go on malls or on everywhere, where it is wi-fi zone I can have an internet access already.  And most important the text messaging and phone calls. Nowadays it is important to have our cellular phone for emergency purposes. If we want to text or call someone we can use our phone. We can text them in just pressing the key pad and sent it out. After in just a second your message will receive.

And my second favorite gadget is laptop, as a Mass Communication student. This is one of the things that I need to have. Though I don’t have a laptop it is still my favorite because it is useful.  I like laptop also because you can bring it on wherever you are going. Not like the computer, it is so big and it is not convenient to bring because it is big and you need to put many things. Unlike to laptop in just a matter of second you can open it up as fast as it is.

          In our generation nowadays. We can see many and new technologies that were invented. We also need to take responsibility to our belongings. Technologies can make the world go round. And can connect us to the other part of the globe. Though we can't deny the fact that there is bad effect of it. It was still useful. It maybe just depends on someone who is using gadget like this.

Bonifacio as a Hero

Bonifacio as a Hero

Filipinos have their own opinion to who will be our national hero. Some says that Jose Rizal deserves to be while the others want Andres Bonifacio.But for me Bonifacio deserves to be. From a young age, he was obsessed with independence for our country. He became the central force in uniting and organizing the society. He is a well known Filipino nationalist and revolutionist. In the time of Spaniard colonial rule he became the founder and leader of the Katipunan movement. Well we can’t deny the fact that Rizal gained more knowledge than Bonifacio because he has an access to travel on different countries. But Bonifacio was not an uneducated one. He was self-educated and was well-read. The group that  Bonifacio founded aimed to unite the whole archipelago into one organization to defense the injustice of Spaniards to us. Bonifacio was a man of action. We can also accept the fact that Bonifacio derived his idea from Rizal but he is the one who put that in action. Bonifacio was a pure Filipino while Rizal has a family race of being a Chinese. Rizal has many written works but we shoul not forget also that Bonifacio wrote the “Pag-ibig sa Tinubuang Lupa”. We can see how he really loved our nation. He united the hearts and minds of Katagalugan, he also trained and preapared them on how to fought for our rights. He has the dedication even if he don’t have more knowledge than of Rizal he still have the guts to do what he thinked he need to do. 

We can’t compare Bonifacio and Rizal to what  they have done to get   our sovereignty back. Rizal fought against the friars with the use of his pen Bonifacio advocated for revolution.  Both of them used different ways to motivate the Filipinos during their time. A hero is someone, especially a man, who has done something brave, good and who is therefore greatly admired by a lot of people.

I Hate This But Still I LOve It :)

Ito ako ngayon nakaharap sa salamin. Nagmumuni-muni, nag-iisip-isip sa kung anong magandang gawin. Sa mga ganitong panahon maraming pumapasok na kung anu-ano sa utak ko. Naalala kong bigla siya, ang lalaking minsan ng nagbigay ng saya at kilig sa puso ko. Yung lalaking andyan para sa akin. Sa tuwing naalala ko ang mga panahon na iyon, ang ngiti sa aking puso ay walang mapaglagayan. Siya ang naging inspirasyon ko noon sa mga bagay na ginagawa ko. Siya rin ang nagpapaganda at nagpapasaya ng araw ko. Lalo na sa mga panahon na sobra na akong napapagod.

Sa di inaasahang pagkakataon ay bigla ko na lamang nakalkal ang isa kong wallet. May kalumaan na rin ito. Ngunit doon ay nakita ko ang mga larawan namin. Larawan ng mga panahon na sobrang saya namin. Walang mapaglagyan ang tuwa sa aking puso ng aking muling masilayan ang mga larawan na iyo. Buo pa sa aking mga ala-ala ang mga nangyari sa mga panahon na iyon. Noon ay kuntento na ako sa simpleng patingin-tingin sa kanya, hanggang sa naging magkaibigan na kami. Doon ko na realize kung gaano kahalaga ang isang tulad ko sa kanya bilang isang kaibigan. Ngunit isang pagkakataon ang nagpasakit sa damdamin ko.

“Totoo ba na gusto mo ako ?” nagulat na lamang ako ng bigla niyang tanungin iyon sa akin. Sa mga panahong iyon ay parang gusto ko na lamang akong kainin ng lupa. Syempre hindi ako umamin dahil baka may magbago sa aming dalawa. “Ah, sabi ko na nga ba eh! Basta BESTFRIEND pa rin tayo ha”. Salamat na rin sa mga pahayag niya na iyon dahil simula nung araw na iyon ay nilimitahan ko na ang sarili ko sa paglapit ko sa kanya. At inisip ko na lamang na mas maganda kung magiging magkaibigan lang kaming dalawa . hindi rin naman nagbago ang pakikitungo naming sa isa’t-isa  at lagi niyang pinapa-alala sa akin kung gaano siya kasaya at nakilala niya ang isang tulad kong kaibigan. Isinantabi ko  ang lahat ng nararamdaman ko sa kanya at lahat ng bawat gawin niya ay hindi ko na iniisipan pa ng malisya. Kahit na ilang taon man ang lumipas mananatili siyang isa sa aking mga kaibigan. Sa ngayon, ay wala na kaming komunikasyon. Hindi na siya nagtetext at maging ako rin sa kanya. Iniisip ko na bawa bagay ay may limitasyon. Kung maikukumpara sa bangin, kung alam mong malapit ka na sa limitasyon huwag ka ng tumuloy pa. Dahil kapag nahulog ka ay masasaktan ka lang ng lubusan .

It's Not Yet The END :)

"Everything will be okay in the end, if it's not okay, well it's not yet the end". That is my motto in my life.
I do believe that life offers a dream beyond our expectations and it's not reasonable to give up. Move on to the things that makes you weak and cry. Focus on the present that completes tour smile. Every trials that was given to us s not the reason to give up. We just need to trust HIM with all of our hearts. Every day new happenings will come and never ever get tired of living your life. Never quit on moving forward after the storm ruins your life because you never know how many people are looking up to you and see you as their inspiration. Your life matters and a SMILE counts be a BLESSING :)
